Phasmophobia’s Tanglewood Drive rework overhaul detailed in new update

Kinetic Games has released a comprehensive visual overhaul for Phasmophobia’s Tanglewood Drive map, detailing the changes in the newly released update 1.000.029.

The update brings a complete visual refresh to the location, introducing new assets and props designed to alter the atmosphere for both ghost and player. According to the full notes via MP1st, the developers have added a “new surprise in the basement” and removed the popular kitchen looping spot to improve the map’s natural flow. While the footprint remains familiar to veterans, the scale of the changes effectively renovates the gameplay experience, much like the upcoming Ghost of Yotei update is expected to do for Sucker Punch’s title. A new Tanglewood Terror challenge has also been added to the Event Board to encourage players to explore the renovated 12-room layout.

6 Tanglewood Drive occupies a specific niche in Phasmophobia history as the first map created by original developer Daniel Knight. Following similar updates to Bleasdale and Grafton Farmhouse, this rework aims to modernize the environment’s fidelity without alienating the community that has spent five years memorizing every safe spot.

The update is live now on all platforms. Kinetic Games has noted a few known issues with the new geometry and plans to address them, continuing the march toward the game’s 1.0 release outlined in the 2026 roadmap.
